The match, held in Kolkata, saw KKR's opener Phil Salt shine once again with a blistering fifty-plus knock, complemented by Varun Chakravarthy's impressive bowling display, as Kolkata chased down a modest target of 154 in just 16.3 overs.

Opting to bat first, Delhi Capitals struggled to get going against KKR's disciplined bowling attack, managing to reach only 153 for nine in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a promising start, with 67 runs on the board in the powerplay, Delhi Capitals faltered after the dismissal of their captain Rishabh Pant, who scored 27 runs off 20 balls.

During the second innings, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a flying start, reaching 79 for no loss within the powerplay, courtesy of Phil Salt's explosive innings of 68 runs off just 33 balls. Salt's aggressive batting set the beat for KKR's chase, as they comfortably chased down the target with 21 balls to spare, showcasing their batting prowess and determination.

In this match KKR opener Phil Salt broke the record for most runs scored at the Eden Gardens in a single edition of the Tata IPL. Earlier the record was held by Saurav Ganguly who struck 331 runs in seven innings at the Eden Gardens in 2010. The 27-year-old English opener has now surpassed his record by scoring 344 runs in six innings so far in the IPL.
